Wash. Rinse. Repeat. The Daily Maintenance of the Soul

There is one cycle every believer should long to remain in: Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

While the world is trapped in destructive cycles that lead to death and bondage, Christ calls His followers into a holy cycle that leads us to freedom. Cycles of compromise, fear, bitterness, pride, complacency, distraction, and hidden sin don't just need to be managed; they need to be broken because they are breaking us.

The only cycle worth repeating is this: wash, rinse, repeat.

We are living in a time when spiritual maintenance is no longer optional. It's not time for the saints of God to retire. Hell is advancing, and the Church must advance with even greater resolve. If we can no longer trace the footprints of God in our lives, we are standing in dangerous territory.

No matter how much time you spent with the Lord yesterday, it cannot sustain you today. Yesterday's prayer cannot replace today's surrender, because every day brings new battles and new opportunities to draw closer to Christ. As Jesus said, "Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6:34). Our relationship with Him was never meant to be occasional; it was meant to be continual.

Psalm 119:11 declares, "I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You." Yet many of us reverse that truth. Instead of hiding God's Word in our hearts, we try to hide our sin from an all-knowing God. The Christian life has never been about achieving perfection; it's about daily surrender. It is allowing the Master's hand to shape, refine, and transform us until Christ returns.

The Holy Spirit continually washes us with mercy, rinses us through His cleansing power, and sanctifies us as we walk in obedience to His word. That daily rhythm keeps our hearts tender towards Him, our minds renewed, and our lives aligned with His will.

So I encourage us to stay in His presence, stay in His Word, and stay surrendered.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
