Part 2: When God Is Working Behind the Scenes

What if your waiting season isn’t a sign that God has forgotten you, but evidence that He is preparing something deeper than you can see?”

Have you ever noticed that some of God's greatest works begin in the middle of painful circumstances?
When Joseph was thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, and later imprisoned, I'm sure he couldn't see that God was positioning him for something greater. When David was anointed king but spent years tending sheep and running for his life, it probably didn't look like God's promise was coming to pass. And when Naomi lost her husband and both of her sons, her grief was so deep that restoration likely seemed impossible.
Yet God was working in every one of those stories. You have to stand firm and believe that He is working in your story too.
The pit, the waiting, the loss, and the hardship were not obstacles to God's plan—they were part of it.
Romans 8:28 reminds us that "All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose." I think sometimes we focus on the "work together for good" part and overlook the words "according to His purpose." Things don't always turn out the way we hoped they would. Sometimes God's idea of good looks different than ours. But we can trust that His purpose will always prevail.
The lives of Joseph, David, and Naomi were not easy while they waited on God. Yet in every story, God showed up right on time.
That's why I'm reminding myself today, and maybe you need this reminder too—that spiritual growth is not optional for the believer. It is necessary. Sometimes the miracle isn't that God changes our circumstances. Sometimes the miracle is that He changes us while our circumstances remain the same.
Heaven is still the ultimate prize. And if holding on to that promise helps us make it through one more difficult day, then every moment of waiting will have been worth it.
