Don't Treat God Like a Genie: Cultivate a Relationship Heaven Recognizes

If you only call on others when you need them, what does that say about your heart?
How much deeper should our connection with God be—beyond asking and into truly knowing Him?

If we only reach out to others when our desires press upon us, it whispers of shallow bonds and fleeting regard.
How infinitely more should we devote ourselves to our relationship with God, the Author of our souls? To treat Him as a “genie in a bottle,” summoned only when convenient, is to miss the sacred rhythm of being fully known and fully loved. We were meticulously woven, every fiber of our being designed to dwell in the light of His intimate knowledge and endless affection (Psalm 139).
Cultivate your relationship with God daily—not just in moments of need. Pray, reflect, and linger in His presence. That way, when you call on Him in desperation, Heaven already recognizes your voice.
“Don’t just call on God when you need Him. Build a relationship He will recognize, so when you reach out, Heaven answers your voice.”
