Are You Awake? A Call to Spiritual Awakening

There comes a moment when we have to stop and ask ourselves a question that is both uncomfortable and necessary: Am I truly awake, or have I become spiritually comfortable while my soul is slowly drifting?

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today's post was inspired by a word I ministered some time ago, yet the question remains just as relevant today: Are you awake?

This is the wrong day and age to be spiritually asleep.

Ephesians 5:14–16 calls us to wake up, rise, and walk carefully in the light of Christ. This is not a message of condemnation but a loving invitation for us to examine our hearts.

Are you truly awake, or have you exchanged the salvation of your soul for the temporary pleasures, distractions, and pursuits of this world?

John 3:16–17 reminds us that God loved us so deeply that He gave His Son, not to condemn us, but to save us. Yet we must choose.

Perhaps you have fallen away. Perhaps you have never surrendered your life to Christ. Or perhaps you attend church faithfully while your heart has quietly drifted. Wherever you are, Jesus is still calling us to awaken.

I am still a work in progress, too. Spiritual growth takes time, but growth should be happening. It's past time to examine our habits: we have to constantly get in the Word. Get on our knees and seek the presence of God, not just the blessings of His hand.

We must also realize that the question is not whether our name is on a church roll. The question is whether our heart belongs to Christ. And the question is not whether you have been awake before. The question is, are you awake now?

Sometimes the greatest danger to our faith isn't that we've walked away from God, but that we've fallen asleep while believing we're still close to Him.

Brothers and sisters, eternity is too important to spend this life spiritually asleep, so wake up, beloved.

"Whatever you do, refuse to fall into a spiritual coma."
