KaShanta's Biography
KaShanta was an honor student and first runner-up for homecoming queen at Northeast High School in Meridian, Mississippi in 1995. At Northeast, she received a coveted award from the NHGA. In honor of her accomplishments, her biography was published in the United States Achievement Academy National Awards Yearbook. This award was of significance to the entire community.
Also, KaShanta participated in chorus concerts during her school years and as a song leader on the Praise and Worship Team at Dayspring New Testament Church in Meridian, Mississippi. She began writing songs at the age of eleven because she was bored. Later she taught herself to play the music on the keyboard to songs that she wrote. In 1991, she entered a poetry contest and won. Her poem was published in the National Library of Poetry. Since that time she has become a semi-finalist in numerous poetry and writing competitions to include children's stories.
At the age of thirteen, she entered the Cinderella Pageant and won most photogenic.
She is a qualified black belt in Tae Kwon Do Ji Do Kwan and was a champion fighter and competi- tor in katas and weapons on the tournament circuit in Oklahoma and Mississippi - a force to reckon with. She holds many first place trophies.
Her other outstanding accomplishments include graduating in the top of her class in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic. She was one of two females in a class of thirty. As a soldier in the United States Army, she supervised a unit at the hospital in Korea, also.
She obtained a real estate license and owned house cleaning business.
Her favorite hobby is reading.
Currently she is a supervisor/trainer at a major company - recently promoted to the corporate office.
KaShanta has a very generous, humble and loving heart and enjoys helping others. She is a very vital part of Manna Ministries. Some of her writings can be seen in the Voice of the Spirit quarterly magazine.
